I got home this afternoon to find a neighbour had posted the leaflet to enter town in Bloom this year. She's written across the top "Please enter your lovely garden".

That's nice of your neighbour to write that, alpenrose. Several near neighbours of mine have often said that I should enter my garden into the village Open Gardens weekends because "it looks lovely." I have always refrained because it's not the typical domestic garden with tidy neat areas set off from manicured lawns, plus it is a "working" garden put to productive use. fetcheveryone.com/blog/37839/2020/6/407205 Also, I wouldn't like strangers coming into my garden and criticising because it's not their idea of a garden - it's my garden grown in the way that I like. Plus, I'm not the type of person to dole out cups of tea to visitors. |

It's only the front garden. I probably won't as there's so many weeds and quite a few dead plants that I haven't got round to replacing that last winter killed off.

Before the winter kill-off, it must have been nice for the neighbour to have given that compliment.

Your garden sounds lovely, Flatlander. I don't go for "neat areas and manicured lawns".

Fragile Do Not Bend
People like to see a variety of gardens Flatlander, but if you are t comfortable with it that’s fair enough. I’m not sure I would either.

Did anybody's fuschias die off? All of ours seem to have turned up their toes. Big, small, or giant. They've survived much harsher winters than this last one. Some of the currants look poorly as well.

Velociraptor
My fuchsia is extinct. It was in a pot and I wonder if it might have done better if it had been in the ground.
