Definitely a peony.
I like the crimson ones, but I also have a pink one which I'm less keen on (was already established when I moved in. Don't dislike it, just wouldn't have planted it myself).

Peonies in my front garden are almost the only plants left from when I bought this place. There's also white anemones and muscari which I regularly do battle with.

Ongoing battles with muscari... but they're pretty when they're in flower.

I have the same "problem" with my muscari. Lovely in groups but they do spread everywhere quite easily so I'm always digging up rogue escapees.

This afternoon I finally got around to planting my Second Early Marfona potatoes and also the Main Crop King Edwards. I've still got my Desirees to put in the ground, which I hope to do by this weekend.

I must have the only muscari in the world that don’t spread, I’d be quite pleased if they did

Mine have at last started spreading! I have only been here what, 18 years? And I am very pleased having them pop up everywhere

I always struggle with cucumbers! I am so glad not to have to grow them for a client this year!
