Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I was going to try and cut at least my grass path from chapel to chickens... It is about 20 cms long and becoming a liability. It has also been too wet but it didn't rain yesterday and it hasn't today...

Any excuse not to mow a lawn is very welcome.

I keep trying to convince Mr F of that, to no avail. :(

On the plus side, we are having some tree surgery done and I’m quite excited by the pile of wood chip that is being generated.

Mr F said there’s going to be quite a lot of it and maybe we should pay them to take some away, and I said NOOOO!!

He just doesn’t understand gardening 🙄

I have lots of bark chipped areas so the visiting cat doesn't need to take its chance with what might be lurking in the lawn.

Food crops going well, cucmbers, toms, Patty Pans, courgettes, Corn!, Just Corn, all doing well. I have garlic, shallots and onions in, and put Parsnips and carrots outside (might be a touch early), plus some in large, deep pots in the greenhouse, which worked well last year. Cabbages next.

Also, must remember Cosmos, and Sunflowers. Might not be so many cosmos this year, as I think I Might put some of the courgettes in the bigger pots, ought to do well on the sunny part of the patio.

I mowed th elawn last night, I have a dandelion problem....

Definitely not too early for parsnips, they'll happily self seed and germinate in February/ March.

Oh yes, I must sow my courgettes soon. I hope we have a more favourable summer for them this year.
