My house was built, many years ago, on farmland.
Consequently, my lawns are like meadows. That's not a good look for a suburban lawn.
The front lawn mainly consists of trefoil mixed with moss.
I'm a lazy sod. Is there any quick way I can relay a new lawn without having to dig up all the old turf?

Personally, I'd be more inclined to forget this year and plan for next year.
DG - you can do it but it won't be quick. You'd have to rake out all of the moss using a scarifier then reseed and feed the lawn. It'l look a whole lot worse before it looks better and you may find yourself doing this more than once to get a decent lawn.

The Terminator
Bought my house 13 years ago because of the extensive garden, however all I have managed to do in that time is just about maintain it at a level sufficient for the kids to play in. I am now (because I'm getting older?) committed to making it look good and have promised myself to spend 3 hours a day over next 6 weeks getting it sorted. So basically expect lots of questions. Here are 3 for starters:-) :
1. If you have a nice lush lawn but weeds are coming through in places is there a specific product I could be using to kill the weeds but spare the grass?
2. The OH wants the far bottom corner to be like a wild area with pretty bushes/flowers. Any ideas what she expects from me because I'm non the wiser... 3. Lawnmower etiquette. 10am on Sunday morning is fine right?
Thanks

personally as you are going to spend a load of time on your garden i would just mow the lawn for the time being so you have a nice neat green place for the kids to play while you are 'making a mess' of the rest... if you spray the weeds you will inevitably get a piebald look for a while, i would do that next spring.
ask OH to show you some pictures of what she is looking for in her 'wild area' if you put in the gallery i'm sure there are lots of people here who could make 'helpful' suggestions
I have no neighbours so cant comment but what do others in your area do?
