Its a service, a man comes round four times a year and applies a weedkiller and a slow release feed, that's cated so doesn't burn the lawn, of course they have all the equipment to do the job well, and you can't buy the stuff they use.

They did offer aeration and scarifying as well but it was really expensive, i ended up hiring som petrol powered machines from HSS and did it myself, quite good fun :-)

Cheers Lammo. Had a quick look at website but no real guide on price. The patch of front lawn I want done is very small, about 7 metres by 4 I would estimate. Won't cost a fortune.

Aeration and scarifying eh? In English? ;-)

Make holes in it with a hollow tined aerator, more likely. Not a job for July (we do ours in October, manually).

Our lawn was turfed in the snow, on unlevelled ground. It is finally being done properly next week!

At last we have baby tomatoes / beans / courgettes :-)
