Ah, sleep score, my average is 66 and 5hrs 56 minutes per night. It's something I need to improve. In fact it had been rtrending up but last few days have been poor.

SQ/Reg - not a sleep score. It's what appears in the Garmin Connect app as 'Stress' and is a measure of Heart Rate Variability. When you are relaxed your heart rate shouldn't be perfectly steady - there should actually be a variable gap between beats.
When you are stressed your beats become more uniform (preparing for fight or flight).
Sure enough, after two decent nights I was back to the worse end of current 'normal' last night.

Interesting TT. Hope it calms down again

Yes SG,SQ - Not being fit the xc is the one that suffers the most. At my normal level i'd be about 80-90th in the Surrey League and 30-40th in the Chiltern. 109th at the last Surrey league LOL.

5 X 1 mile off 90 was more promising last night - 5.33,5.28,5.23,5.22,5.17. Good night for running.

Hope that "anle" injury improves (ooh matron comedy klaxon sent into overdrive!).

The stra va line thing is odd, but I can't understand how there's a list of 73,000 "improvements" assorted gimps vote on, yet a simple edit feature isn't in there.
Probably a good thing a couple of 1am rantdogs don't still post, as some of their guff wouldn't have read nice.

I think the edit thing is exactly that, SG. To hold those ranters accountable in the cold light of day. Whilst it's a bit of pain, net positive I think.

Great progression on the mile reps, SC.

TT - ah I see. Have listened to a lot on HRV and can definitely see the use. I stopped wearing my watch at night so never really capture mine in any meaningful way.

First speed session post-marathon yesterday. 15 minute tempo (6:23), 2 min jog. then 10 x 60s fast (6:01), 60s slow. In the 5s for the first half of the minute reps, but the shortish recovery caught up with me in the final few. Disappointing to drag the average over the 6 barrier! 10.5M total at 7:20 pace (including a jog back from the fields off watch as part of the warm up). Good to get back on the industrial loop - the GPS magic is great for the ego!

The edit feature request is in the list, but Fetch himself said on feature request 1887 “I voted against this, because I think the current format is good for ensuring accountability. I don't mind if people make spelling mistakes”.

SQ - I only started wearing mine at night again when all of this started. Mainly because I set an alarm on it if my HR drops too low, but the data trends has been interesting to see. Nice session. I like mixed pace stuff.

The lack of edit functionality takes some getting used to, particularly if I've typed quickly, made a mistake, and then have to argue with my OCD that I cannot edit to correct, but I totally get the accountability side of things probably keeps a lid on some of the stuff that is unnecessary.

Tests yesterday afternoon. Turns out the reason my HRV was rapidly worsening at night, and the reason I've been quite tired the last few days is that my Afib has come roaring back despite the meds. I was sitting at 155 at rest whilst in with the cardiac failure specialist nurse.

What that means to my overall prognosis I don't know, but it was apparently a coin toss whether or not I was admitted. In the end I was sent home with mega doses of Digoxin, instructions to call an ambulance if things got even 1% worse and I am having cardioversion on Tuesday with an adjustment and addition to my existing meds. So an interesting afternoon all in, if a little unsettling at times.

Fingers crossed for Tuesday TT.

Edit function with a timer to allow 10 minutes to correct spelling mistakes but still keep most comments permanently for the thought police to persecute with?

@Foppotee that's the ideal scenario - and am sure RW had that?

Hope the slightly more important stuff goes your way @TippTop

About This Thread

Hi there - this thread started in 2010 over on RW and started as an improvement thread for myself under Moraghan's coaching, through to more of a general collaboration tool and place to share training and long winded race reports.

Thanks to the fetch community for allowing us to move over, and we'd welcome loads of new contributors adding to the thread, as we were definitely running on empty with a small bunch of posters near the end!
