Will let you know when I've found them, Gooner. I was looking at them just a few days ago but they've hidden themselves away again.

I missed that Puma are discontinuing the H.ST 2.0s... I'd not forgiven them for discontinuing the original H streets still my fave race shoe and the one I recorded nearly all of my pbs in. I'm back in the minimalist game after deciding that Vaporflys are actively hurting my running, and I'm slower in them and I need to up my cadence. Shopping around, came across the Mizuno Duel Sonic 2s. Anyone have any experience of them. More of a "racing shoe" than a true flat, but they look reasonably priced currently. |

Chrisull found them a bit slappy...as in your foot hits the floor it absorbs a bit of the shock..and then nothing, found my self trying to push through to the floor instead of just bouncing off . Not a huge fan, but kept them to pootle about in....caveat im a high cadence forefoot striker.

Ta - I'm gonna give them a go, nothing else really fitting the bill currently and I normally get on ok with Mizunos.

New Shoes: Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit It seems they no longer do my old favourite Stealth IIIs, so I'll see how these go. |

Not at all keen on these new Vivos. They look good, and for the most part, they actually feel good to run it. But there's a fatal flaw - it feels like they're rubbing the top of my right foot with sandpaper - and have now caused a huge blister

I've just gone for the Merrell Vaporglove 5. Yet to run in them (as it's rained continuously since they arrived) but first impressions are that they feel closest to the Puma H streets of any minimalist shoe I've yet tried. They've got that mix of proprioception, with a smidgeon of cushioning that I'm looking for (the Invivos were just too thin and wide for me). Of course now I've piled on 3-4 kilos since my prime racing days, it could be a challenge, I'm just gonna have to HTFU. But as I ran my pb marathon in the fabled H streets, it can't be that hard to rediscover the magic? Or have the Vaporfly's made me go soft? Anyway this is what they look like: sportsshoes.com |
