For anyone that might be interested *waves at Mr K*, 25th Lanzarote Marathon in six weeks time (also half and 10K) lanzaroteinternationalmarathon.com DeeGee, I ran Regensburg HM, they have a marathon too. The marathon is hundreds rather than thousands, but Regensburg is a lovely city (with the world's oldest sausage stall!) and easily accessible from Munich and Nuremburg. Among many other I have looked at (HMs, but also having a marathon) are the MittelRhein (North to Koblenz) and Rhine-Ruhr (Duisburg). Although - all these are spring. |

I have a supercharged spring this year, so it's really Autumn I'm looking for. I love Germany and there's absolutely no linguistic concern for me going in that direction. So long as there's a railway station, I'm good to go... |

Might find the odd idea here marathon.de and here laufreport.de Munich and Magdeburg jump out. Or for something quite different, Schwarzwald. And a Deutsches Marathon statfest here laufreport.de |

True Gritts!
Lucerne is awesome! I did it last year, fly to Zurich and then a 1hr train journey straight into Lucerne it's a beautiful little city, everything you could want in a weekend away. The course is two laps, start and finish in the City Center. I can also recommend Cologne ![]() |
