Just so happens I am likely to be in Fairbanks a couple of days after this event in any case. I think an extended trip is in order. equinoxmarathon.org |

I've just booked Heartland starting in Ohio in June & Tallinn as lots of mates going. I know where folks would have gone wrong in Malaga there was a loop at half way with a half way timing mat - I reckon that's where they missed it. Anyone else in Tokyo or Little Rock in the next 6 weeks ? |

Not a full marathon, I know, but I'm heading to San Diego in March for the half marathon. Luckily a couple of old university buddies live out there now, so free accommodation ![]() |

Would love to do the Midnight Sun one in Tromso, Norway - can take the Mrs. so she can go shopping but thinks it might be a bit expensive. I heard Norway is very pricey and I imagine getting to Tromso would be really expensive - it's above the Arctic Circle.

I did the half marathon in Tromso a couple of years back, tonyp. Norway itself is pretty expensive but I don't recall that getting to Tromso was so bad - Norwegian fly there.

Tromso is wonderful! I was there in September and have a lot of colleagues up there. You can fly SAS (changing in Oslo - which is currently a pain in the arse as for some inexplicable reason, you have to collect your bags and drop them again. I think they are going to change this though soon). There are loads of flights because it is a big oil & gas as well as research centre. It's definitely not cheap though - and I'm from Iceland! Your best bet for affordable (I won't say "cheap") accommodation is booking.com or such like; but you'd be advised to book early. |
