2:53, rather fell apart but had the good sense to anticipate and ease off the last 12km rather than completely collapse somewhere in the outskirts of Manchester with no means of getting back to either the event centre or my van

Well done everyone, and a big thanks to the fantastic support and entertainment around the course. Managed to hold it together to go under my target of 3:15, with an almost 14 minute PB of 3:14:32. The last six km or so were agony, but I’m so glad that I dug in and made it. Got no data to look back on as I was using a borrowed Garmin that I dropped back off on the way home, so am hoping that the owner can export the data to me somehow. Who’s up for 2023? 😀 |

Well done everyone! Jda, still a very credible result, well done! Larks and Mr G, delighted for you both. I'm over-the-counter moon with 3:18:19, better than my best case scebawith a negative split and a genuinely enjoyable experience up to about 24-25 miles when it all began to feel a bit hard and only reflected in my mile 26 split! Thank you so much to Nelly for supporting - so great to see you, nearly didn't clock you first time, but lovely to see you on the way back out of Altrincham I think? Mile 17-18 ish? Coloured High viz jacket? I was feeling amazing and overtaking people at that point! |

Happy new pb for me too today. 2:53:12. Couldn’t have asked for better weather and the organisation was great too. The wave starts confused me with the results though. I saw a couple of runners miles ahead at a turn point but then finished 4 mins ahead of them. I dont know whether I must have started in Red B instead of A. 🤷🏻♂️ All turned out fine though. |

Well done all. Great to see you too clare, and as I’ve said elsewhere, fantastic time and excellent pacing. TBH, I didn’t think you’d seen me at just before mile 12; and yes next time was coming out of Altrincham (about 100m from old house). |

Sorry I didn't clock you Nelly! 17-18 were my tough spots so I'm sure you'd have got me through it! Well done for the 2:53'ers - whether that's below what you wanted or ahead, it amazes me that people can run that fast for that long! Well done PCleasby, and to you to jda. Gutted I didn't get to see any of the thread posters IRL but I'd underestimated the size of the event. |

No probs Larks’. The second time I saw you was actually a little later on the course than I saw clare as I was heading towards Altrincham for the cycle home to Lymm; so I saw you just after the water station at the bottom of Brooklands Road (long straight road back towards Sale) just before the 19 mile marker. I think I shouted “Well Done Matt”, and you gave me a look that I took as “I’m 19 miles into a marathon and I cant work out if know if that person or not”

Well done everyone ☺️👏 I finished in 3:44:44 a PB so I'm happy with that 😁 Kept up with the pacers for most of the race, they were brilliant and it was nice running in a pack all aiming for the same time. Really struggled past mile 22 when I started falling apart. Knackered now 😩 Didn't see any Fetchies unfortunately the scale of the thing was so massive and I felt a bit lost in the crowd, but I heard someone behind me say "come on Fetch" which was nice but I didn't see who Enjoyed it, a great day 😁 |

Some great times today. Well done to all those that PBd or exceeded their targets. 3:14:43 for me which is my best since Abingdon 2018 (when I ran 3:08) Started with the 2nd 3:15 pacer, worked my way up to the first by 6M then moved ahead. Halfway in 1:34:55, slight slowing in the 2nd half & had to pop into a portaloo at 30K to shed some weight. Came out to be overtaken by the 2nd 3:15 pacer. Just about hung on to finish about 14s behind him. Happy enough with how it went though obviously could’ve done without losing a couple of minutes - again! Thanks for the parking suggestion Nelly Ideal 😃 |

If you had the rainbow fetch top on Benny it was me. I enjoyed the event, it was always a get round after having to drop out last year due to illness and I was happy enough with 4:35. I’ll definitely go back and do it justice next year. I wasn’t expecting much in the way of support so was really surprised at the amount of people out in Alty, Sale, Timperley and Chorlton. It really spurred me on when I was flagging.
