Article I saw said timings were yet to be confirmed.

“ The mass participation London Marathon start time is usually at 9.30am, the same time as the Elite Men's Race kicks off. This normally follows the Elite Wheelchair Races from 8.30am, World Para Athletics Marathon Championships Ambulant Athletes from 8.45am and the Elite Women's Race from 8.55am. However, timings for the 2021 marathon are yet to be confirmed. ”

Pretty sure the elites are a 9:30 start, for the men.

That makes sense on elite start times as they need to be off ahead of everyone else. Good to know so I can plan my running to ensure I can also view the action :-)

Postie been and gone and still no kitbag. I see from the Event Guide that I will have to pick one up at the Expo if it doesn't arrive before I head down on Wednesday morning.

So could someone who has received their bag help by letting me know how big it is? I assume it will take a pair of shoes and a set of clothes? Also did it come with any instructions about what we are allowed to put in it? Thanks.

I received my bag but as I am not participating * I didnt look closely. I dont think there were instructions and the bag looked the same size as in recent years so you could get a small rucksack inside it.

* I am feeling quite sad that for the first time since 2009 I will not be participating, albeit I am looking forward to weatching the race live which is something I have done from way back before I even knew I would become a runner that did marathons

I measure it as 52x42 cm with a little “gusset” 10 cm wide at the bottom. In the photo it has a snack, warm top & trackie bottoms in, looks like space for shoes.

Instructions have how to put the sticker on, and suggests contents could include warm clothes, change of shoes and non-perishable food (“ie no bananas or anything that could go off or get squashed or broken in transit”). They suggest you don’t need to put drinks as water/lucozade will be added, plus shirt & medal.

You must be able to pull the drawstring tight to close the bag.
