It's really complicated trying to spot Fetchies when you're stood at mile 22 and the 3 hr pacers from the different starts go through 20 minutes apart - or the 3.30 blue pacer is running with the 3.15 red!

I guess it's Ok if you've found the right pace group you want and stick with it.

I just hope I can get to the start :-)

Sorting logistics. Only ever been a tourist that tags along with family/friends lol. Now I have to get from hotel to start :-o . I suppose wherever you are staying, it’s a given that you can follow the crowd :-)

Daughter, son-in-law and grand daughter shall be popping up on route though and meet me at the end!

All the pacers have their start colour clearly displayed from what I remember so it shouldn't be too difficult to spot the correct one. An advantage of the FGFA is not having to dodge the groups round the pacers.

They didn't put the train times in the final instructions magazine this year, presumably as the trains depart whenever they can't get anyone else on board so times are irrelevant. But knowing how long to allow to get to your start by train is useful so here is the timings from last years magazine.

I would advise you to only try and get on the train at the start, such as Charring Cross, and not at Waterloo East for example as you'll just be stood on the platform watching full trains go by and getting nervous.

Thanks for the timetable, that's a help. Good tip about going to the start of the journey. In the distant past I remember trying to catch a train from London Bridge and it being rammed - not a good tactic.

It's most convenient for me to catch a Cannon Street train to Greenwich/Maze Hill but being on Yellow I should really catch a Blackheath train. Something else to ponder.

I have caught the DLR in most years and that's best. I have also gone from London Bridge and think the trains I caught started there so was OK. This year instead of staying at Tower Hill I am the other side of the river which isn't great for getting there ,so might be an early start and a walk to the DLR

I'm just lucky that my local charity runs a coach up to the start. Its a bit early but as long as the weather is set fair then its ok to soak in the atmosphere

I stay with a friend in Lee and then have a nice stroll to the start. It's about as close as I get to a warm up on VLM day.

I'm staying in tower hill and am hoping to get to start by train from London bridge, sounds like that is a reasonable plan

I did find some train times somewhere in the info. They were pretty frequent
