There were some proper camera shots of Ted looking worried/leading us to think he may be in it.

Buckles came actress as a bit tougher, I thought, but he’s still the puppet.
It couldn’t go nuclear without putting the kybosh on another series. Carmichael will be the avenging angel.

Maybe it’s been over hyped this week, I don’t understand people being rude about it though, we are just enjoying the podcast

Too Much Water
I believe I made the Buckells / bent case quite early on in the series. The banality of evil. He wasn’t a genius criminal mastermind. He was a plodding conduit.
For my money Osborne isn’t directly involved in any OCG criminal activities but certainly has made a point to promote people who have dirt on him eg Buckells to keep them sweet and to pour water on anti-corruption cases. Probably not criminal, but certainly bent.
As for not tying up all the loose strings, and not answering all of the questions for my money that’s one of the shows strengths. Very often the characters in these stories don’t know the answers so we don’t either.
I think the camera shot of the principal officer investigated in each series being removed from the board and filed away would be a perfect way to end it, however if it does return, Kate & Steve to be in a relationship with each other in series 7?

Now I've had time to recover, I agree with a few posts on here - I think it has been written so well. It did feel a little bit meh at the time but actually I'm glad there wasn't a ridiculous twist from left-field. CK2's comments are spot on.
I don't know if there will be an other series but I'll happily watch it all again anyway. It's just so good!

I was surprised it was such a gentle wrap up but I also didn’t mind. it backed up what jo said about after Tommy dying of it being disparate ocg’s helped along the way by someone allowed to rise rather than a mastermind. There’s scope to find out who pilkington’s master etc was

Was half expecting someone to take a shot at Osbourne during his statement and it to end there.
In regards who controls Buckles it was mentioned a few times that the OCG split up after Hunter died so there are several small ones who all want favours.
One assumes however the comms route between the OCG and Buckles was surely only known to a few not all of them.

Buckles is definitely being controlled by someone, so if he's the top police bod in it, there is an ocg controlling him I think. He's not calling the shots. What with the cup of tea killing lakewell in his cell incident, he'd know that stuff happens and why, he's probably had a hand in some of it, so why did that freak him out so much. Remember the line about I don't know why I don't know.

Regarding bad guys getting away with it, I think there was a stark contrast to the scene where Gill Bigelow (baddie) got out of her car and walked towards her shabby witness protection house. Then at the end of this season, Jo Davidson (goodlie) was walking out of her nice house, seemingly very happy and content.
