Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

I'll be interested to see how many the new Catford parkrun gets as it settles in. They had 214 on their inaugural last week and I'd guess a good percentage of our regulars are nearer to Catford (only about a mile between us though!).

Any idea how far along Peebles planning is and when it might start?

Don't know where folk find out about these or log them, but Lochore Meadows will be starting 19 May, I think. Trial this Sat 5 May I see organised by local running group who I expect are most of the core team.

Loch Leven (Larder), Kinross end May or June, I think. Seen less about this one though. Two new within 10 miles for me! Yay! :-) G

Interesting, RMS. No activity on the page since launch, which seems a bit odd. It appears to have been more of a secret than recent inaugurals ;-).

Lochore Meadows - the one I mentioned on the previous page, :-)G? :-p. And Lanark was the one I alluded horse a few pages back, though I've no idea if the racecourse actually is the venue, just that I reckoned it a possibility.

Re Prospect; we are going for a very low-key start. We have had issues with complaints about parking before even starting so we are trying to get underway with as little disruption as possible. Additionally we almost had a very late cancellation due to Race For Life setting up for the Sunday and have negotiated that we can start as planned if we are completely clear by 10am, so, please consider joining us at a subsequent event.

Cheers!

"Have you ever been to a Harvester before?"

I wonder how that "don't park in the park, park 10-15 minutes away" thing will go? Will they have "no parking" marshals?

No, nothing we can do to stop participants parking there, it's a public car park, hence concerns having been raised and our desire to have a 'quiet' start. We have been warned it could be a very large turn out due to location etc.

First time I ever went into that Harvester it was a derelict building being used as a changing facility for kids football, would have been about 1973 :-)

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
