The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Not one person will cause damage, but by the time you have 1000+ people (which they probably are if not more) this is going to start having an impact. Why can't people just leave the gas guzzler at home and use public transport etc...

Tumbleweed, I see where you are coming from, but this is on a different scale...

Just wish these "tourists" would think a bit more, as they are putting strain on often new events too.

Skatas parkrun in Gothenborg starts on 12th August. Oslo's first parkrun has been delayed because the local council wanted to impose restrictions and charge for the use of Frogner Park. Discussions with Oslo City Council are ongoing. In Canada start dates are now up for Frederick Back parkrun in Montreal & Whistler parkrun in British Columbia.

Re- the post about the unofficial parkrun in Düsseldorf. I flagged this upto parkrun HQ a few months ago for two reasons. Firstly, because using the parkrun name could be a copyright issue (although they were spelling it Park Run) & secondly, because there maybe some people in Düsseldorf who are willing to set up a proper set of parkruns in Germany. Good to read that this is now in the early stages.

Thanks, I regularly look at the 'Accepting Registrations' list which links to event pages but cannot see a link to the confirmed events with dates tbc.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
