Fountains Abbey is pretty much inaccessible on a Saturday on public transport other than an early bus from Harrogate and a 2.5 miles jog to the start! Would be a nice scenic warm up jog though!

Outside the scope of the thread, but for anyone going that way Russia is now on the parkrun website. First two events start in Moscow on 22nd Feb and 8th March

Once a Sprinter ...
I ran one of these last August. Straight along the river for 2.5k and back again! Very friendly with communal warm-up - being English I stayed at back and did my own stretches & pretended not to know what was going on!

I started this week euphorically happy, and continue to get happier!

I can't say any more, other than I have had a meeting and have a date in mind...

I have news of Wetherby. Funding and location sorted, no date for a start yet. So local I'd need a bloody good excuse not to go!

Well done DeeGee. Happy to come to one of the early runs and do any volunteering role that allows running.

About This Thread

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
