I nearly always run in shorts bit I get a bit tired of remarks from walkers when it is snowy and minus, so I switched to tracksters today at -9. It felt a bit restrictibe and didn't do much to keep my hands warm, which is more the problem rather than the legs or core, at least for me.

I tried running with covered legs once (it was minus 7.5C discounting the wind), I had to turn around before I had gone a mile as I was so uncomfortably hot. Due to playing competitive football from an early age my legs simply do not register the cold.

Leggings are the safety kit that I carry in my bag at races that say you must have full body cover but never wear. ( )
Not true, worn them 3 or 4 times, e.g. -15C in Norway.
