Froome and Quintana will be 1 and 2 I think, but there's a potential battle for 3 between Porte, Martin and Yates. Porte looks strongest atm and should get time back in the TTs, but will he last all race?

Porte was 4th in the Dauphine, Yates 7th or 8th, Martin was on the podium. Porte did the best of the 3 in the opening mountain time trial too, despite Yates saying he though he could do really well in it. Martin was naive (understandable as it's his home turf for the Andorran based Irish Brummie) in his attack today and it *almost* cost him time, the bunch slowed at the end, allowing him to get back on. I like Yates tactics of not doing much just sitting tight at the back, the early attacks if not GC based don't tend to stick. Will Porte have his jour-sans. Not convinced Froome is going to blow the back away like in previous years.

Met a chap I hadn,t seen for a while today and got to talking and he told me of some arrangements for this years Junior Tour if Wales.
We then talked about the Tour and to settle a dispute we googled the results of the Junior Tour.
We settled the dispute, the answer to which was Johann van Summeren, but then went on to see how many top 3 were present.
Roger Hammond and Charly Wegelius both winners in the 90s are DSing.
David Millar on itv4, second
Dan Martin and G first and second in 2004
Boasen Hagen second 2005
Dan Mclay winner 2010
Not 100% sure but think Ryan Bonser on spanners at Sky

Whoops pressed button too quick

Bonser second in 2003
Matt Stephens for GCN wins in 87 and 88

Luke Rowe won the points classification in 2007 but wasn,t placed.

If this is a suggestion of past results taken forward for the Tour then in a few years we might expect to see
Hugh Carthy, already making a name for himself with Caja Rural
Eddie Dunbar
Scott Davies u23 TT 3 time British Champion already
As well as Dibben, Doull and quite a few more.

Bit of a lump at the end of today,s stage but more than I thought when I suggested a sprinters day today. Still think it could turn out to be so as it will only be a few minutes climb but spinters may sit up as it will definitely be their day tomorrow.
Biasen Hagen today for me.

As soon as I saw Orica had 3 it was odds on for Bling to win but thought Impey was doing a bit too much on the run in.
Don,t bet Cheg but thought he was worth a mention.
Looks like Froome and Fabian put a lid on it with about 25k to go and the gap at 3min 45. With a sprinter day tomorrow I suspect everyone thought that would be a good 45 minutes of recovery gained.

Surely it's about time for this year's thread? Froome vs Quintana vs Contador vs Nibali is all go again... Will it be the same once more?
