Radio 5 reporting that Contador has abandoned, surprised he lasted as long as he did considering the violence of the first crash. Nails really, quite sad but he has a new contract with Trek according to reports.

Yes he's abandoned.
An odd day. He went on the attack, looked terrible and was dropped by Sagan. We then hear he's ill which added to his two crashes makes attacking seem like madness. I wonder whether that's what Yates (assuming Yates is annoyed) is angry about, he basically shot his bolt and any chance of surviving in the first few minutes of the stage.

Sorry, Contador ignored by his directeur sportif, the mechanic did talk to him, but he rode away looking miffed, and abandoned shortly after. Frank Schleck (Trek) put his arm round his shoulder before he quit. Contador waved to cameras as he got in the car,, allegedly had a fever last night, but seemed like this was premeditated almost.
