I'd love to see Geraint get a chance as team leader, Sky have hinted at it. I see him more of a leader than Porte.
Woet Poels was amazing for Froome in the Dauphine, I expect him to be at the front near the end of the mountain stages.

When I saw the line up my first thought was it had a little more emphasis on getting Froome safely through the first week than I'd seen in the past; though I'm not sure if that's just last year making me think more about that aspect than previously.

If G Thomas was ready for GT leadership, he'd have got his chance in one of the other 2 tours. Reality is, he doesn't climb with the big boys yet.
I for one hope that there are no crashes among the GC favourites.

Me too, it was really disappointing last year not to see them go head to head in the mountains

I think Porte has had his chances, at the tour last year and the giro this year. I think Thomas should be back up for Froome next year.

I wonder if Konig might be more their goto plan B than Thomas. He has history of being up there in GC in the grand tours.
Though nominative determinism suggests GT should be good in GTs

Konig definitely wasn't the finished article in the Giro. He does look promising tho.
Porte doesn't (and never has) looked like a high mountains man to me, he's another in Wiggo's category, a strong all rounder, but struggles to stay with the true accelerations. Having said that Astana's doesn't have as many as they could have - Kangert yes but no Landa or Aru in that team. It is a very strong team so, more than Sky's in my books.
There will definitely be crashes among the GC favourites, Froome is off his bike in most races. I don't expect all four of the big four to finish, but I'm not singling out any one, just saying. The first week is always a nervous one, and with some bumpy stages and with ramps like the Mur de Bretagne, there will be a lot of pressure to be near the front when the attacks start for those stages.
