Boom and Westra did shepherd him last year, he's strong but everyone still needs support. As for Porte, hate is blinding you both if you're suggesting he isn't a good mountain dom. His job is to help in the mountains (and that means a steady hard pace, not following accelerations), he doesn't need to have legs for three weeks. Mountain doms have come in minutes down on flat stages if necessary to save their legs for the mountains. |

Hmmm - its an interesting one - because I expect there are a lot of dirty ones out there. Its difficult to know what to think. I actually like him and respect for him as he could have kicked Brad's ass a couple of years ago, he was the good super domestique and did as he was told. I totally respected him for that and have liked him since Not that's it a topic for this forum, but I still have a bit of love left for Lance despite what he did, despite fervently denying it forever despite being mugged off by totally buying into his story and his two books. I can't stand Contador even before he was done for his dodgy beef (or whatever it was) His time for me was done when he attacked Schleck in the mountains a few years back which was the first time I ever got into a TDF. I guess some riders you either like or dislike. |
