It's very exciting! It comes close to me on day 3 but I'd like to go and see a climb, maybe Cow and Calf. Thinking on day 2 I can get near the beginning then into York for the finish loops. Might even get to day 1.

I think Black Hill Road will be an interesting place to watch. It's uncategorised, but is a fairly tight road kicking up to about 20%, 15km from the end and the last notable climb. Putting a sprint on it is a work of malevolent genius! Should be great fun. May have to indulge in the sportive. |

May not have enough holiday for day 1 but should manage days 2 and 3. Can walk from home to the finish although we may do something more adventurous

Black Hill Road is evil. And a real struggle to climb on a bike. Good for running hill reps though! |

I've just seen on TV the finish of the 1st stage of the Women's Tour. Why on earth where the photographers allowed to be in the path of the finishers just a few yards after the finishing line? Disgracefully poor safety management.

It's quite common, almost standard. You only ever see it if the overhead cameras hold for a while on the leaders, but there are normally several in that position. There is footage from one of the classics (MSR possibly) a year or two ago of a rider losing his wheel in the rain after the line and sliding into the assembled photographers, but I can't recall any significant incidents before today. Barriers (specifically the feet) have caused incidents more than photographers from what i can recall. Just wishing Lizzie recovers well |

Do we need a Tour 2015 thread? I enjoyed watching the Criterium coverage - set us up nicely for July. |
