Ambleside is a really horrible CP! It was like a sauna last year, and the same this year.

I found very little of the food on offer appealing; too much sweet stuff, and even the crisps were weird flavours (cheese & onion!).

I've done a Bob Graham (2011) and LDWA 100 (Dales 2008); the only event that I think I can do that I'm interested in is the L100

I fell. Which is not surprising as I fall over a lot, in my defense it was dark and I have very little depth perception even in the light. Well that's another Lakeland 50 weekend over (sigh) I love this event but I won't be entering next year as I am looking for a new challenge and I know of a few people who would love a place and I've had four, so it's time to move on. Will be committing to bloggage tomorrow while it's fresh in my mind. I am totally in awe of the 100 runners, each one that passed me took time to say hello or ask how I was doing. Amazing they were about 70 miles in and still had time to inquire, that's what's so special about this event, of course it's still a race especially at the top end, but it's also much more, for me it's like stepping out of time into another world even if only for a while. A girl (okay that's stretching it a bit) can dream eh.

Makes sense, DT - an L50 sounds pretty full on to me, but if you've already done a BG, maybe not so much. I'm idly thinking of doing one of the big rounds next Summer.

Anyhow, time to bow out of the thread, and get back to the regular grind. Look forward to blogs and whatnot .. and next years thread :)

I did it! :-D 105 miles and out for 38hours and 39mins! I've never had blisters before ever but was riddled with them from around 20-30 miles and so it really slowed me as I couldn't run the downs too well if at all! Feet are trashed! Rest of body doesn't feel like it's done anything! :-)

Mountain Goatess, well done! I was wondering about you, but didn't know your real name to stalk you. Glad you're safely round and back :)
