They're not waterproof? Struggling to see what they're for then.

As an aside, I turned my socks inside out, rubbed them with compeed.co.uk before putting them on, and didn't get a single blister. I'll be doing that again.

While I'm here, I'll also say I covered the bottom third of my back with a thin layer of vaseline, and for the first time, ended an ultra with no backpack rash. I'll be doing that again, too :)

I didn't do the 100, and have zero thoughts of doing so. But apart from a bruised toe I appear to have no blisters, no chaffage apart from something that needed a smear of Vaseline at Ambleside and only a bit of DOMS that two trail walks appear to have helped ease.

I've never had to experiment with kit. I've generally managed to find what works and stick to it. X-talons, socks that fit and usually a favourite shirt and socks.

Some people just feel the need to gloat don't they ;-) I did neither but had very little sleep, fed lots of people who did, popped up on the course and lived off nervous energy for the weekend, and knackered and still need mid afternoon naps ;-)

That's good going, Dave :)

I seem to have abdominal DOMS :( No idea how to deal with that. I guess some core work to prevent it in the first place would be a start, but for now, I can't even seem to run because of the pain of it.

And I can't write grammatically accurate sentences.

Core work will sort that. I had arm DOMS after my last marathon. I clearly need to work the guns more!

Cheers nuttyficket :-)
I like my S-Lab, but I am a 6ft bloke in a small :-o I think any larger would be a problem.
Zips are crap though. Also stupid fiddly clips. Get cold fingers and you cannot get the damn thing off! Very frustrating when warm clothes are in the back and you cannot reach them :-p Much cursing and use of a knife solved it.
That said, I'm looking at something bigger as I cannot fit the requisite kit in the S-Lab 5.

Will add both core work and 'gun' work to schedule :)
