No you daft bugger I meant that 90% of the field finished behind you! What were you, 37th? That's outstanding.

Totally agree with NE. That is outstanding. If I recall Marc's closing speech, the 'weather' was not kind at all this year, which makes everybodies achievements even greater.
It was great to see Mrs NE collect her prizes/award for 3rd place lady in the UTLD100 *applause*

Finn: congratulations on your prodigious journey. Sounds you may trade a workaday streak for one made up of hundred-mile races!

Well done Bobs, flying finn, jackdaw and your Mrs, I remember speaking to you but I didn't realise you were a Fetchie! I had my Fetch buff on all through the race but it was covered quite a lot by a hood cos we had a bit of rain...
Well done everyone who toed the line. Sorry to hear you DNFd flanker. I think I'm going to blog about the 50. Thinking back to what v'rap said it may be the toughest race I've done. Nobody told me about the scrambling out of Tilberthwaite and the brutal downhill in to Coniston and that was just the last 3.5 miles! I seem to recall Fenland Runner saying it was a piece of piss after Ambleside! 😉
My feet are shredded, I have blisters on top of my toes, my legs ache but I did it! The 50 felt as tough as Hardmoors 110. A lot of that was because of the extreme weather, but also the terrain made it really hard, all the pointy wet stones and steep descents to knacker weak knees like mine.
shanksi was fantastic and navigated perfectly and put me to shame on the climbs. I reckon he should do it himself next year and see what time he'd get. I haven't slept since 7am Saturday so off to bed soon.

Let's not forget to congratulate _andy.
On the back of an injury and very much reduced mileage he absolutely smashed it.
87th place at the UTLD50 in 10:49:44
That is amazing!

Mrs S, I absolutely loved it! Even though the drive back to the Fens was as crap as always I'm still buzzing, although since Friday morning I've probably only had a few hours sleep.

Fetchies done good (commiserations flanker - I remember chatting with you after we DNF’ed in 2013). I’m with ff - the full is tougher than a Bob Graham

I overheard some people who have completed an IronMan and they were of the opinion the #utld50 is 'harder' than an Ironman
