Plus if they have their weighting towards first timers and to having a 50/50 split of male / female places…. It makes for interesting maths and odds depending on your sex and if you’ve done it before 🤪

Basically, if you a returning male runner you have less chance….

:( will probably have to find something else to do next year then, was hoping quick fingers would get me in on Sunday. We're also away next week with no wifi and possibly no phone signal/data either so I might not get to respond to an email from the charity ballot anyway.
:(

I blame Gary Thwaites for giving it too much publicity on Tea and Trails ;)

did Marc say 50/50 male female or was it the 'same proportion on the startline as entered ballot' which he aimed for last year or the year before?

They declared quite openly this year the process of rebalancing of applications for the 50 to ensure a 50/50 gender split. (I think the applications were 54% M and 46% F?) They are some way off being able to do the same for the 100 on account of the greater disparity of entries.

I didn't know about the first timers weighting. (It didn't help me, anyway!)

That's my thoughts. If I get in it is a bonus, but I fully expect to be rejected.

3.6g-4.5g vs 10.6g of sugar per 100ml is the difference… or about 2.5g per 100ml for happy shopper cola
