My resting heart rate is a good indicator of any illness and at the moment it is 39-40. So I'm not going to bother with any LFT.

Nice one. Even those carrying the virus but feel 'fine' would have some marker with regards to heart rate?

DT, I have no medical knowledge/skill/experience, but even a common cold does make a difference to my RHR.

I was completely free from COVID symptoms (and I knew I was a close contact so was looking out for them) until I suddenly wasn't.

Interestingly, my RHR always seems to come down when I'm ill (including covid). I think it's because I go from being really quite physical for most of my day to doing nothing - my go-to treatment for any lurgy is to head to bed and stay there until I'm better. This is nothing more than anecdote, but it intrigues me nevertheless.
I feel OK, RHR is high 50s as usual

I tested anyway, seeing as Iโm bringing mum with me and always test before I see her Negative, phew!
(The trip we did last Friday was as risky anthing as Iโve done recently, no masks on the train - although windows were open and it was quite draughty. Apart from one elderly gent we were the only ones to don them for the coach rides)

Great news, Rosehip. I'm fairly solitary. No family members have it at at the moment.
