My best year for the L50 was around 5:55 from Ambleside to finish. Unfortunately during the L100 never got that far. ;-)

1st time for the Lakeland 50 here and I’m so looking forward to it. Just had an enforced week of no running/long walks due to an infected big toe.

Took myself off yesterday for a 7 mile run/walk and it’s like I’d forgotten how to run πŸ˜‚. I’m just looking to get round and finishing in one piece (I’m very accident prone). πŸ₯΄πŸ˜

I think it’s fair to say I could only dream of that kind of pace next week 🀣

And that's all Sabrina will do in the race. When she ran her best LL100 in 2018 she was outside 4 hours for that section. When I just dipped 4 hours in 2019 the best was around 3.10. Even the winner of the 50 in 2021 was a few minutes outside that pace and he ran 7.41 for the whole thing.

Just to add to what Finn said.

Looking back on my training log I did a training run of the section Sabrina did this morning back in 2018.

According to what I logged I did it in 2.37. My race split the following year was 3:38. And I was moving well and pushing hard at the time.
She’ll be quicker than me, unless it goes really tits up for her. But probably not that pace.

First 50miler for me so trying to judge from training and 50k’s. Appreciate the comments thanks πŸ‘

I’m 1762 Rosehip , my son-in-law (who got me started on this running lark) is back for a third 50 (1460) after a hip injury stopped him starting the 100 a while back.

So my daughter, son-in-law and grandson will be waiting for me in Coniston. On the assumption I get there I will be a blubbering wreck πŸ™„
