has anyone tried to crochet socks?
my thumb seems OK with crochet and knitting isn't allowed on jury service so I thought I would see about crochet and I have so much sock yarn that I thought I would give it a go
mind you sock yarn is so thin/small it might me hard work!!

I figured if I am stuck indoors for hours for 2 weeks I might as well find something to do
need to check if crochet is OK!

If they complain, tell them that the magistrates are knitting in the retiring room!

haha
I can just about understand knitting as a no as I guess a needle could be used as an offensive weapon as "sharp" but a crochet hock isn't sharp
there is only so much reading one can do!!
I expect embroidery or cross stitch will be out too

I've crocheted one pair of socks, using sock yarn - they're on Ravelry here ravelry.com . I did a lot of work on them going to and from Singapore, plenty of hours to kill!

Lots of patterns for crochet socks on Rav.

The one I did for my mum was this, EvilPixie [hope the link works!🤞] It was easy to do and mum loves it! She says it keeps her warm while she watches TV in the evenings.
