I've signed up for 2024 Debbie Abrahams mystery blanket. I did the cushion in 2012 and the blanket in 2013, and a crochet blanket in 2020 so ready for another project! I was drawn in by the colour description which says 'Bold, vibrant shades of deep purple, teal and magenta are combined with soft turquoise, dreamy lilac and blush pink, laced with flecks of cool silver and pale gold'

I’ve also joined a Toft subscription, I get a new endangered or extinct animal to crochet every 3 months. This is the first one, it’s a quagga

They do a mystery advent calendar which I tried to order, but I think I dithered too long and it must have sold out.

question for you ladies

I have an iffy thumb (poss old age creeping up) and after a comment on here I did establish that lots of knitting made it "worse"

Is crochet less likely to impact it to knitting? Or would size of needles make a difference? I mean socks vs jumper? What about embroidery? would that aggravate it?

Poor image of where it can niggle below!!

I suspect the answer to that is 'it depends' and you'll only find out by trying the various options! Crochet might be easier assuming you're right handed as you will only be holding the work in your L hand but you'd need to try out options of how to hold your work and your yarn

I suspected as much but didn't know if there was a known wisdom!
My crochet is very poor - could be a chance to improve!!

Jury service in Oct - you can't take knitting as knitting needles are dangerous. I wonder if crochet is OK I assume any needle work is a no too
