Steeked up the front. A big scary thing to do as it cost a silly amount of money. I did a wee trial run before doing the cutting and concentrated really hard on doing the crochet bit correctly. I have been lucky to be working in good daylight over the holiday mornings.

Not only the money but the time and work too. That was some undertaking! I saw a lovely cardi to make for my sort of stepgranddaughter for Christmas but was put off by the steeking bit. I am not especially dextrous or careful at the best of times...

There are plenty of 'learn to steek' projects cyclops that are small enough to do as practice...

I did this mug cozy to give it a go...

Some of it was done while NotSoSmallFry was at brass band practice on a Saturday morning - 90 mins of knitting and music.

Those mug cosies are cute.

Good idea, Panad! I hadn't even thought that there might be smallish practice projects available. I'll add this to my list of things to do once I've finished my WIPs (which are currently a single bed size ripple crochet blanket, a double bed size crochet hexagon blanket, the 'Santa Dash' Christmas glitz knee rug, and three pairs of socks :-o ).
