No!! Aubergines are Good. Mushrooms are pretty Bad. (Though, a bit like snails, if you cover them in garlic, butter and parsley and breadcrumbs, they're Acceptable.

I agree with Sharkie. Essentially, any baked pasta dish apart from lasagna is wrong.

Baked. Yes. Cooked pasta baked in a semi-solid sauce. Baby food.

Sharkie
Mushrooms, aubergines and in fact all vegetables known to woman(and man) are good.

tunabake is BAD.

It is tuna and pasta smothered in a thick sauce - always made with flour, sometimes added cheese and then BAKED in an oven.

Wrong, very wrong.

Are we talking tinned tuna or fresh Sharkie?

I prefer tinned tuna cold, but often eat it hot- usually as some sort of pasta bake.
Fresh tuna I find very dry, but always had it grilled rather than baked.

In my house it would be a fairly lazy thrown together meal, but a big dish of it that will do me for a few days.

OK, I'm not really that strict with the cheese and fish rule, I put cheese on top of fish pie, and it is nice with halibut... but as a rule...

Some sort of sour cream is nice with smoked salmon on a blini, but that's ok as it isn't cheese.

And tinned sardines on toast are nice a little bit warmed... but apart from that...

And aubergine can be simply great, or really horrible.

tunabake sounds perfectly good to me. And I've just had a chicken and bacon pasta bake, on the off chance it'll cause even more fury among the righteous of Fetch.

I had some very thinly sliced fried aubergine the other day - just too soft to be aubergine crisps - and it was delicious. You do have to watch how you cook it, agreed.

When we were first married we had a Moulinex recipe book that came with a mincer/grater machine (imagine! Making our own minced beef or lamb!) and that had a tunabake recipe in it (not sure what involvement the mincer/grater had.) It was a very sophisticated recipe because you added a glass of sherry to the sauce :-)

Even I thought *boak* remembering that :-)
