I’m waiting for my tea to go down before emptying the last half Jewson bag of MOT.

5:52.3.

That sucked huge donkey balls from about 400m in. I am not prepped for that sort of effort!

I kept visualising it as a track mile at cambridge, seeing myself on the back straight then round the top bend etc. Don’t know if it helped but I was 10 seconds quicker than I ever ran a mile!

10k tonight. First 2k to get going and a strong last 8k.
I am not a distance athlete so 10k is always a slog, so was quite pleased with 40:30 finish.

OH did her 10k as well, her longest row ever. Not sure she was prepared for that, but she did it.

Nice once Sinj and Mrs Sinj. 40:30 is a bloody good time for a 10k. I'd be pretty happy with that on Sunday I reckon.

I was well over a minute quicker on my mile than I’ve ever been able to run - but that’s par for the course for me, my 5k row PB is about 7 mins faster than my running equivalent.

The gap from my run PBs to my rowing equivalents isn't so big SK but I'm definitely faster on the Erg than on my own feet. 5km I never quite got under 21 minutes but I've broken 20 on the erg. I can row 10km in about my run PB at aerobic effort levels, and my Half Marathon is about 7 mins quicker on pretend water.

Tomorrow I'm planning on giving the 6km a crack. That's not going to be pretty!

Just had a quick look at the Concept2 Heptathlon challenge page. There's 5 pages of rowers who have done all 7 events already! Spotted that one is a Fetch Rower too, but not a name I recognise.

6km tonight then. Good warm up and maybe another crack at that minute before I go for the 6km I think.
