I emailed Nicky and she replied that you don't earn stars on orders where you have redeemed some. And to check your balance, log in, click on My Account in top right corner and select Account, then on the left hand menu towards the bottom is Reward Points.

Stars for my starburst shorts will be added when they're sent out. I didn't redeem any for that order but did use the Fetch code. So if you didn't use stars for a purchase recently, it might be worth checking and dropping them a message.
