Recoil
I would disagree most heartedly with the heel strike comments. My Bondi's pretty much force me onto the midfoot. They certainly arent designed for heelstrikers in my eyes.

But what do you normally do, recoil? Are you saying you normally heel strike but don't feel able to maintain that with Hokas?

I would defo count myself as a heel strike Hoka runner but have been taught that it really doesn't matter which you do as long as your foot is directly under your hip when it hits the ground and I also count myself as a fully confirmed Hoka runner , has them about 18 months now , on my second pair of road and waiting for a delivery of my 3rd pair or challengers ........... I have however dabbled with a move to Altras for the wider toe box but they just aren't as comfortable as the Hokas so I'm switching back ....... after only 3 runs in the Altras.............

I've got Stinsons at the moment, which I have available as one of many shoes in my Arsenal. I was wearing them for everything, but I find that they cost me time, so I've gone back to using a pair of New Balance or Brooks for speedwork, and Skechers Ultra for pure road marathons. The Stinsons come out for the more social marathons.
Whether they'll see as much service after November when I start thinking about shorter, faster stuff again remains to be seen.

Hoka's are my 'long' distance shoe of choice, would not wear them for anything less than a marathon.

Oh well I've gone ahead and ordered a pair of Infinites in last year's colours for £70 so here's hoping.

My favourite shorter distance shoe is NB890, I've worn all models from v1-v5.

Done my first run in my new Hoka Infinites, not quite as soft as I'd expected coming from Asics Gels but seem ok. Will use for steady runs for now, as I'm not sure how good they will be for doing speed work - except its under the toes from speed work that my current shoes are wearing thin and giving me blisters...
