I use โsupportโ shoes for slow and easy runs because I donโt think I engage and tens my muscles and ligaments and so on, as well as when I run faster.
It has been working anyhow, and I get rid of those niggles.

I wear support shoes when racing - watching someone else race, that is.

Cliff Young at aged 61 won the Sydney to Melbourne 500 mile race wearing his work boots! He was a potato farmer. No Hoke!

Found an old pair of Clifton 2's at the back of the cupboard. I must've bought them cheap off eBay and forgotten I had them. Took them out for a run this morning: they're light, bouncy and minimalist in construction, quite a long way from more recent iterations of that model.

I've done 1000 miles now in my Clifton 7's and there is still considerable sole left to demolish! (given a bit of shoegoo where I heel strike!) I'm yet to fall in love with the Clifton 8's which don't yet do it for me completely after 250 miles.
