Brilliant Bob, how did you get shot of the 16lbs, I haven't lost any in the nearly 3 years I've been running. Keep it up. Well done.....

Bob!
irunslowly

didn't lose it by running.

I decided that bread was bloating me, so I cut out bread, stopped unhealthy snacking. I now have an apple an orange and a banana as my snacks at work. My Lunch is usually a pasta pot (Ainsley does some nice ones) and one or two of those bits of fruit instead of a sandwich and a cake. Apart from that no snacking & sensible portions

Girlie
Back from my run- at last an improvement!
the numbers:
3 miles in 35:50
Avg pace 11:57/mi!
Avg HR 144(68%)

That is 33 secs per mile quicker than Monday's run:-)
I was surprised at the pace though, it is very frosty today, so I was mincing more than running to make sure I remained vertical rather than on my ar$e! Lovely morning though for a run-sunny, but fresh and cold. Really lifted my spirits.

Knee is a little sore, but that's probably due to being poked by gp prior to my run!

Hoping I can continue to make the improvements again, now training has restarted.

Sounds like you had a nice refreshing run Girlie both physically and mentally as running normally does for me anyway :-)
I did a 5 miler trail and averaged 10:39 68% hopefully if I lose the weight I might even sub 10:00 milng next year, some time.......It was nice out there today, perfect running weather and I think the temps help the HR stay doan a bit.

Hendo
My recovery threshold runs of late (70%) have been slooooow. I have no idea why!

Tired? A bit, no more than usual.
Overtrained? Nope, had a week off last week.
Stressed? No more than usual!
Poorly? I have a bit of a sneeze, but I'm not poorly.

Maybe I just don't like running in the cold!

Everything you need to know about training with a heart rate monitor. Remember the motto "I can maintain a fast pace over the race distance because I am an Endurance God". Mind the trap door....

Gobi lurks here, but for his advice you must first speak his name. Ask and you shall receive.

A quote:

"The area between the top of the aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is somewhat of a no mans land of fitness. It is a mix of aerobic and anaerobic states. For the amount of effort the athlete puts forth, not a whole lot of fitness is produced. It does not train the aerobic or anaerobic energy system to a high degree. This area does have its place in training; it is just not in base season. Unfortunately this area is where I find a lot of athletes spending the majority of their seasons, which retards aerobic development. The athletes heart rate shoots up to this zone with little power or speed being produced when it gets there." Matt Russ, US International Coach
