26bpm, mic? Seriously?
That's right in the realms of a Ventricular Escape Rhythm, rather than a normal sinus rhythm!
Unless there is another explanation, that is really rather low!!!

Out of interest, Mic, if your RHR is that low, what's your MHR?

Hi Nelly, I have never tested it out ,, but Im work on it being close to 177BPM, , most of myb Long training Runs are done at 140bpm - 156bpm, my AT work is normally 158bpm - 164bpm, intervals may get close to 170bpm I almost never run below 130bpm unless its a warm-up or warm-down effort - I dont like the *feeling* of running at 120bpm, it *feels* horrible.. but most of my training is low 30mpw , with 2 long'ish runs [for me 13miles is long'ish] at least 1 tempo effort over 9 miles, a steady 7 - 8 miler and 1 x easy short 4 miler, this summer will see the 7 miler sub'd for an additional track session over various distances' .. too much info probably cheers

Hi,
Anybody run a good half marathon with a HRM before and know what is a good WHR % to be at? I have my first half with HRM on Sunday and would be interested in roughly what % I should be doing - want to see if I can use my HRM to judge whether I am going out too hard early on or if I am holding back. What is the % guidelines if anything to race a HM at?
Any experience / advice welcome Thanks!

Clare, I don't use a HRM to help me judge effort for a race as it can be very inconsistent what with race nerves, weather etc.
That being said there is no harm in giving it a try, just make sure you don't run too fast, maybe keep an eye on how you actually feel.
Parker suggested that a half marathon should be run at 80%WHR and I would probably go with 85-90 but that's me and my level of fitness. Go with 80% if you use it. I'd prefer pace though to be honest...

Thanks Ian, that's helpful. I have a pace in mind too, but will work out 80% WHR beforehand and then just keep an eye on my HR while running to see what it is.
