Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Silva for me, the trail runner is the best one I've ever had.

Simple, not flash but gives plenty of light on three modes.

You can buy it with either a rechargeable battery pack or a battery box for twenty quid less.

I love my Alpkit qark headtorch ... does the job for me! But I guess it's a case of whatever suits the individual?

Not sure I’ll buy another one after tonight. From memory it was expensive but you can see how frail it is where it’s come apart. Doesn’t look like much more than glue keeping it together.

Almost bought a Fenix HM65R-T, but the shop that had them at a reasonable (well, ish) price has now sold out.

Still thinking that is the way to go.

I was really happy with my LEDLenser NEO10R until it suddenly decided not to work any longer after 2 1/2 years!! Luckily I'd registered it for the extended warranty so have just received a brand spanking NEO9R as a warranty replacement. Only took 9 days after my first enquiry email and 2 days after they recieved my deffective one! Can't fault their customer service.

Time to resurrect this thread!

I used to run a lot at night and have had a variety of head torches.

I haven’t run at night for a few years and am starting again. I got really annoyed by my head torch today. It kept falling down even though I had it quite tight and was wearing a buff.

I was using my alpkit one which TBH I’m not sure if I have worn it much as I bought it just before COVID then ended up not using it.
Any tips on getting the headtorch comfy? I never used to have a problem but feel such an amateur!

@Snoot how have you found the NEO9R? I've been offered one as a replacement for my deceased H7.2R. Pleasantly surprised as it looks a step up. I understand the power pack contains two 18650 cells, are they swappable?

I've still got two functioning rechargeable Petzl Reactik. They are very aged now. After falling head over heels during the Lakeland 50 in 2011 while wearing a cheap head torch, the investment in a 'proper' head torch was very worthwhile.

@StuH forgot to reply sorry

Power pack is moulded round the power cells with a bespoke connector for charging which was my only bug bear with it
