Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My LEDlenser is fab! I’ve not ran with it on yet, but it’s really lightweight and fits nicely! The three choices of light thingy are good, with the most powerful being like daylight!!!!

It’s the NEO 5R

(Disclaimer: MOTM prize 🤣🤪)

I was looking at the string version of that one DT as a short run light / backup in my bag light. It has a bit of a short run time for long events, and doesn't take batteries.

I’d like to know why the most popular brands are so expensive?

UtraDunc: Mostly because they work without failure.

My Alpkit has 'failed' in an unusual way: the head strap has stretched so much that I now have to keep 10cm of it tucked into a pleat with a safety pin. It works OK otherwise (although it's one of the old models with the twisty battery compartment release that's sure to fail at some point).

Back to the drawing board here after a bit of a disaster tonight. The Silva Trailrunner I’ve had for a couple of years but barely used basically came apart tonight. I think I had it too tight but the design seems poor. I had to hold it to keep the light on. Last thing I wanted after an hour’s train journey to go for a run in the hills.

I agree with Pal: I also have that Ledlenser and it is awesome: good enough for mountain biking! The least bright setting used for walking.
Also MOTM prize but they were on my radar before as a fave amongst fell runners.

I had the same issue as you Oranj.
I have also had a battery compartment cap fail.
On both occasions Alpkit sent me strap and compartment replacements for free, years after I bought the light!
