I'm quite weirded out that I've got no side effects from my 1st one at all (AZ). I can vaguely feel it on my arm but nothing else at all. Means I can go for a Brucie Bonus bluebell run tonight, thought I'd need a rest day today!!

Our downstairs neighbour got his 2nd yesterday (he'sin his mid 60s). When I saw him in the car park in the evening he looked *terrible* - so housemate is currently making Shepherd's Pie for us all.

He was rough after first jab, too. Pfizer for both.

Hope I don't get like that. I'm a poor patient and have a tendency towards dramatics :)

Had my first dose of AZ on Saturday, have today stopped feeling sick, didn't get the headache or sore arm.

Had my first AZ on the 12th March no side effects other than a tender arm. Not as tender as the flu jab though.

Next one booked for 28th May.

My second (Astra Zeneca) will be a week tomorrow. Both husband and I got the shivers after our first, but husband didn't get that after his second, so fingers crossed.
Daughter #1 (late thirties, NHS worker) has had both vaccinations (Pfizer) with no real symptoms, daughter #2 (mid-thirties, also NHS) has had first AZ and just achy arm and neck. Also fatigue, but she has a nine month old, so is usually fatigued anyway!

Any advice on navigating the booking system?

My friend sent me this (he’s totally frustrated)

“Have booked a first appointment 5 times (on about 50 attempts) and each time it says there’s no second appointment available and then kicks me out”

Not from me PenW, I got phone calls for mine and MrsS got text messages, not sure why the difference as we're both registered with the same surgery where we get our jabs??

Maybe there is no date for the second ones yet. I got both my appointments at the same time and my partner only got one and hasn't had a second appointment yet.

Give 119 a call Pen; you get to speak to an operator who can book you in for both appointments on the same call, they just need you to confirm name, address, a phone number and NHS number (should be printed on any prescriptions you have). Takes no more than 5 minutes mid-afternoons
