Hi spendap and welcome to Fetch! Despite your setback it sounds like you’re catching up really well. Good luck with rest of the training! Nine weeks to go :)

Have booked in with the Mottingham Masher on Thursday no doubt I will leave with a lot more issues than I went in with but it makes her happy and gives plenty of time for the marks to fade away :)

Change of plans for this weekends long run - I'll try and do as early as possible tomorrow before Ciara hits . I don't fancy 18miles in 70mph wind on Sunday

I'm doing my long run today. I don't mind running in the wind and rain, but not for 16 miles.

Unfortunately my plans can't really flex for this weekend, and I don't fancy 17m on Monday night, so I may have to be out in the gale on Sunday if I'm to stick to my plan.

Hey, you never know it could be a unique chance to try a race day simulation if the weather in Manchester isn't quite as benign as we'd like.

Managed to stick to getting my miles in this week despite being on a residential course Mon through Thu. I made a point of boring my fellow trainees about my running plans which meant I'd have had to eat large chunks of humble pie if I hadn't set early alarms during the week to leave the hotel and find places to run. It's all about finding those additional motivations to keep things ticking over!

Long runs on Saturdays. Sundays are for little early morning 10k and sleeping through the afternoon unless taking part in an event.

I've got XC in Heaton Park, Manchester, on Saturday, so LR Sunday is fairly fixed. Whilst it's a race, it'll be a hard tempo rather than eyeballs out, so I should be OK for 17 the next day.

Long run of 18mi done this morning. Amazingly it was completely calm and sunny so I'm pleased I did it today rather than tomorrow. Plus I now have a lie in to look forward to tomorrow morning!

Similar for me 17.5 calm, sunny intervals, good temp and lots of well behaved dogs😉 A short recovery run tomorrow then battening down the hatches
