Thanks Fordyboy. I think, however, I do need to give myself a good talking to. It's not like carbloading, just eating very poorly. *slaps own wrist*

I seem to be settling in the plan too. Early niggles which I thought might scupper the whole thing seem to have disappeared. Pace vs heart rate isn't what it was back in September, but there's still 9ish weeks to go. I'm currently managing to drop in at least one extra easy 5m or so per week, so mileage is currently bubbling around 50 and might top 60 in some weeks. Got a 20 miler in at the weekend, and hope to top up a few more of the plan runs to 20's.

11 tonight...

Almost 18miles this morning (my longest training run since September 2017!). For those who can see my training, you might recognise the route (24.5m-finish and then rejoining the 2020 route at 9.25m to 24.5m).

Just a reminder for anybody injured/struggling/unfit the deferral deadline is this coming Friday.

And if anybody is still thinking about entering, “public entries” close on Wednesday (I interpret that as you MAY get a charity place after Wednesday).

20 lovely miles done this morning where I decided to avoid head torch use despite technically setting off before “maritime twilight” (a new term on me) with still 35 minutes before dawn. Fortunately it was all on a traffic free route, which I would imagine isn’t quite as straightforward as Nelly’s run!!

Need to find a time to do some running around some of the course in Manchester, I do love a good recce!

You’ll be fine Spanners!

Can you get some more miles in and avoid some of the cross training? Or are you a bit wary of pushing up the volume?

Hi, I just signed up to Fetch having lurked on and off. I've entered the GMM and the reality is starting to hit home now. Due to injury I only really started at the beginning of Jan and that was doing run-walk for a week or 2. I'm now rapidly building up the miles by just doing slow/low HR runs. I always knacker my calves doing hills or speedwork so I'll just keep doing the slow stuff and hope that weight loss and increased fitness increases my speed by the 5th April. I'm hoping for a 4hr time which is hopefully achievable if I don't injure my calves. Last week I did 45miles with a 16mile long run, hoping to do 48miles with 18mile long run this week. Really looking forward to it now!
