Unfortunately the 45, being the entry level model, has a restricted set of available data fields, and average lap time is not one that they give you

Sadly I am not sure the 45 is an upgrade. It has limited functionality and I believe this is one of drawbacks.

☹️☹️☹️well that’s a pain. It might have to go back. If ignorance is a valid reason to return it! Thanks for the heads up guys!

Would a 245 do the trick? Not sure I can justify spending any more than £250

Google the equivalent 245 manual and check what fields it has - pretty sure it will be fine, and it also won't round the average pace to nearest 5 secs

Perfect, thanks. Just need to see if I can persuade Amazon to take the 45 back after I’ve done two runs with it....

If you’ve kept the original packaging and restore it to factory settings you’ll be ok to return I should think.

I've always found Amazon to be pretty flexible with returns, so hopefully it should be OK.

How trustworthy are the mile markers at Manchester usually? Wouldn't want to commit to the watch usage above and then find the markers are a touch random - though with the city centre loop early on, it would be helpful to be able to make sure that gross watch inaccuracies are ruled out.

I've just fininshed my first back to back 60+ mile weeks, so with 6 weeks out feeling pretty pleased with progress. Just need to be careful that I'm not overdoing it, but legs and chest feeling strong so far. Battled the elements yesterday to a really strong 20 miler, progressing pace every 5 miles up to just faster than MP for the final 5 (a session advocated by Gobi from these parts). A couple of weeks ago I was nervous that I'd be on the start line just targetting a small PB, but feeling now I'm getting back into the mode where I can be looking at close to the target I'd set for Chester, at least when the gun goes off anyway - who knows what happens after that!!

You could try a second hand 235 - you should be able to get one for about £100. I have one and they give the stats you want plus more than you will ever likely need
