Nelly would know more, but imagine it would take a few weeks to confirm. Think City and Utd alternate home games so you would always have a City game on the weekend of the marathon.

No, it's not official yet, and based upon last year, it's likely to take a couple of weeks to get council agreement etc.

The Etihad Stadium is on the other side of the city, so whether Man City are at home really doesn't effect it much at all. Plus the FA usually stagger Utd and City home games to avoid both being at home on the same day (presumably on police advice), so it's pretty much impossible to pick a weekend when neither will be at home. City are playing West Brom that weekend, so I'd say it's less likely to be moved to Sunday for Sky (and clash with the marathon date) than against some other teams.

It will all come down to whether the 10th is ok with the council and other stakeholders. If it's not, then I think a clash with VLM is inevitable, unless the organisers go for 8th May (but that is very late).

I can 1000000% guarantee it won't be the 31st of April ;-) 99.9999% sure it won't be 1st May either ;-)

Cheers for info Nelly, I'll be a late entry for next year if at all

Damn you Gus and your eye for detail ;-) I presume the house move, whilst not adding too much distance onto your journey would add quite a bit of time? Hope to finally meet you on 10th April.

:-) glad to be of service ( gonna have to be extra careful now with what I write as you'll be looking for revenge ! )

Would be another 1.5 - 2 hours drive, which is still perfectly manageable. See how things go over the winter

The organisers have responded to a couple of comments on Facebook this evening confirming 10th April is their preferred date and they "just need to check all interested parties are OK, in particular mufc"

Ok, I'm in. At least, I will enter by October, will hold off a bit just to make sure I'm properly uninjured by then. 3 weeks before the 3 peaks is a reasonable recovery interval, also it's clear I'm better suited to flat than hills so should take advantage of the training. I'll plan to do it as part of the training, at near race pace but perhaps not a full taper and flat out effort. Early days to predict, but anyone else wanting to go round about 2:58 pace is welcome to join me :-)
