Oh I see! I misunderstood. They seem to send a lot of emails in error Nelly - I do wish they'd buck up a bit. They can clearly organise really good triathlon events (see Jude's blog today) so it's a shame.

TBF (on this occasion) it appears that it was the entry website (Rider HQ) that sent the email not Xtra Mile, but generally yes I agree.

Yes that's what they seem to have done - I haven't actually heard from them, the refund has come through via Worldpay - but I think they've given us both the discount and I wasn't a Marathoner!

You're in luck then AL  I haven't had anything, but then again nobody in my household ran the marathon this year. Yes, you're right Nelly, Rider HQ sent the email for some reason.

As pointed out by PeeG, there's been another update of the course re-measurement article today coursemeasurement.org.uk So far 8 courses have been re-measured; 6 were found to be short, 1 was ok (because the organiser had changed the course slightly), and a final one was also ok. There's still 7 courses to be re-measured, and Wilmslow HM to decide whether they want to be re-measured(?!?!?). It also looks like we're fairly close to the 2017 marathon date being announced https://twitter.com/Marathon_Mcr/status/738661212473425920, although I'll be gob-smacked if it's not 2nd April. Finally, does anybody want to work for Xtra Mile Events? xtramileevents.com |

Just got an email saying it's open to enter tomorrow, and the date is the 2nd April as Nelly already guessed, which looks like a good date for me. Other alternatives/combos are Vienna on the 23rd or 3 Peaks (fell race) which hasn't been announced but I expect will be the 29th.
