I didn't play (on-course) at all from end of October until this weekend just. I did work on the game, although (inevitably) not as much as I would like to have done. Couple of lessons over the winter, coupled with 1-2 range visits per week.
I wasn't expecting much this weekend, but I did have a breakthrough. +2 for 9 holes (was only a 9 holes comp)  3 reasonably long putts dropped which won't happen every day, but still was fairly solid all round. Certainly won't be finishing this year with a 21 index.

Well the trip to range was as expected, variable i think is a a good word.
However, at short notice i played 18 on Sunday, we teed off at 0745, it was -2 and everything was white, not usually my conditions, but all things considered i played OK and had a purple patch from 10-14 which of course gives me hope and lures me in for next time.

Hope you've all been managing to get back out since the last updates.
I went to the range on Monday. First swing since I played last year but was striking the ball well enough.
Playing at Monifieth golf links on Friday which i'm looking forward to and what hopefully won't be my only round this year. (only played once in each of last 2 years).

I've got a few games coming up, including this Monday, and it's only 6 weeks until my annual mates weekend away, for which i am the current champion.
might practice a bit of chipping in the garden over the weekend

Chipping in the garden should have been what I did as <50yards is where it usually starts to go all wrong for me. Luckily the trusty Texas wedge should come in to play today since its links golf.

Great game round Monifieth on Friday. Nice old school links and fairly flat so didn't come off tired even with bag carrying. Started off like a guy who'd only played twice in over 2 years (which I am) but near the end was playing great stuff. Last four holes was par, bogey, par, birdie. Was wanting to play a few more holes at the end

Excellent work well played.
Really enjoyed my game yesterday at a course i rarely play, bit scrappy and not much consistency, but generally the driving was good and holed a massive put so i'll be playing again
