Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I enjoyed Muse. Got a lot of their big hits out the way early on but they're as much about the show as the music.

I wouldn't go to Ashton Gate again, the organisation is a shambles.

Pale Waves (crap), DMAs (good), James (excellent, as always) and The Courteeners (always a great live show in their home town) in Heaton Park on Saturday.

It was a mud-bath, the hordes of kids were sh*t-faced before they even got in (many probably didn't even make it in), the toilets (and surrounding slurry) were worthy of a weekend festival from the 90s, the number of flares and smoke canisters made a mockery of any pretence at security on the gates, the bar queue was so long we didn't bother after the first pint, and our pre-booked taxi picked up some other group.

Loved it. Can we come again next year pls.

The MEN review describes it as 'euphoric beer-flinging terrace-chanting welly-filled pandemonium.' And that was just at the back with the old people...

That sounds exactly what I would expect for Courteeners on Saturday night in Manc Ks. A pissed up football crowd with the dickhead count off the scale.

Glad you enjoyed it but you couldn't have paid me to go to that.

Back at work after an action packed weekend of Bon Jovi in Dublin. Two great shows and despite the biblical rain last night's show was amazing - one of the best they've done for a while. Also managed to get a bit of parkrun tourism in at Poolbeg parkrun. I am completely and utterly knackered. Straight to work from the airport this morning. Round 2 of the tour Weds (Liverpool) and Wembley on Friday. As the man himself said - I'll Sleep When I'm Dead....although I am struggling to stay awake at my desk. My mind may think I'm still 21 but unfortunately my body has other ideas.

There was a bit of pushing and shovving at the front by a few drunks but generally, thankfully, the Jovi crowd are not known for their major mosh pit type behaviour - we're all too old!

I love Dublin for gigs - cracking atmosphere and all the security staff always seem to be local and have a laugh too - unlike the rent a mob they seem to hire at most large stadium/arena venues these days.

Enjoyed Blackberry Smoke on Saturday night...played for nearly 2 hours after a very short set with a warmup band called Birds that change colour.

Birds that change colour? Chameleon birds!

They should change their name to Chameleon Birds. It'd be a much better name.
