The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Adwaith at Nottingham Bodega yesterday - really enjoyed it. Support was Grain Mother, who I quite liked, and The People Assembly who had a lot of technical issues, but I'm not sure they're my cup of tea anyway. Adwaith really stood out as being on another level in all respects. Would definitely make an effort to see them again.

Next gig: bdrmm, Nottingham Rescue Rooms, 12 March. Not sure who the support is - they've got an array listed but it doesn't say who's where. Also their van has broken so fingers crossed this doesn't go t!ts up.

First time in The Brudenell at the weekend. In fact, first time in Leeds. What a great city and what a great venue. Will definitely be back. Oh yeah … and Chalk were absolutely on fire ! (Shout out too to support The 113. Really enjoyed them and look forward to seeing them again if/when the do their own headline tour.)
