Amy Rigby (alongside hubby Wreckless Eric) was superb in Edinburgh last night. A very small venue filled with an enthusiastic crowd of mostly grey haired fans (including myself). She played most of her excellent new album with a few oldies thrown into the mix. Lots of good stories between the songs including the story of her and Eric on their first date in Edinburgh nearly 20 years ago. She's on a UK wide tour so well worth seeing if you get a chance. |

I really like that there are plenty of over 50s at gigs, including for up-and-coming bands. I've had some lovely chats. Got a good tip-off that bands sometimes play Coventry Library the other night which is quite handy for me - it's part of this initiative getitloudinlibraries.com

I was also at the Interpol show at Ally Pally last night. My eldest was supposed to be with me but he's unwell. Youngest saw them earlier in the week at Newcastle. I got very close up the front but the sound in Ally Pally can be a bit 'muddy'

Back to Drumsheds last night for 30 Years of Bugged Out, featuring a 3- hour DJ set from Chemical Brothers. A much bigger crowd than our last visit in September and a much higher dickhead count as a result. Star prize to the woman waving her fan so vigorously I thought she might achieve flight. Good set from ChemBros, also caught 2ManyDJs b2b with Erol Alkan which was v good and Modeselektor who was a bit meh. And a treat at the end to bump into an old work colleague whom I hadn’t seen for 15+ years. |

My boys are off to see that tour at Ally Pally - assuming they are both well by Friday. They have both got some sort of virus.
